Hello, internet. Some of you out there might already know me as traciedesigns. I have this whole blog devoted to design, and shoes, and me, and shoes... but I thought it might be a bit much to add cycling into the mix—so here I am. Tracie, who rides her bike.
Truth be told, I started this blog because I committed to riding in the CT Challenge this year. Last year I rode 50 miles, and it was hard, and it was awesome. Last year was also my first full year riding, and I thought 50 miles would be a nice start to long-distance riding.
This year, I decided to up the ante and go for 75 miles. Remember, the ride I signed up for is called the CT CHALLENGE. It's meant to be CHALLENGING. There's some serious hills, and it's not like it's going to get easier the longer I go.
So, I might just be a little scared.
OK. I'm a lot scared.
I've got a long road ahead of me (ha! Do you see what I did there??), and I figured this blog would be a good way to get it out there and share my journey to ride 75 (really hilly) miles. I thought this would be a good place to talk about training, eating, and riding in general.
I'm still a newbie (and I'm in no rush to give up that title—heck, just the other day I learned how to pump up my tires [ooooohhhhh, you have to twist that little knob, too?]), so any advice you all have to give back as far as rides, tips and tricks? Hit me up in the comments.
In the meantime, let's clip in and go.
